Technology Transfer

Network meeting on Enterprise Development was organized on November 26, 2004 at HAN. A total of forty members attended the meeting. Ms. Muna Shrestha moderated the meeting. Ms. Shrestha recapitulated on the previous Enterprise Development Network Meeting.

Two presentations were made in the meeting. The first presenter Mr. Sharad Rai from ITDG Nepal presented on experiences on appropriate technology transfer by where he discussed about making the transferred technology more sustainable in Nepal – taking advantages of its rich traditional technologies. The presentation was basically about the role of Technology in the field of Enterprise Development. The presentation focused primarily on the challenges on the development of Technology based product and apply it among the MSMEs. The Second Presentation was made by Mr. Babu Raja Shrestha, President, Center for Renewal Energy presented on Technology Transfer. The presentation was all about the alternate energy, which can replace the oil lamp, and save the expenses of Nepalese Households. He discussed about the present status about the potential energy in Nepal and despite it is still inaccessible by the citizens. He discussed about how the wicked Lamp “Tukimara” the solar lighting solution which can be beneficial over the existing lighting products as it is safer, durable, reliable, energy efficient, convenient, flexible and reasonable.

Towards the end, Ms Muna Shrestha wrapped up the forum since the presentation and discussion took more time then the allotted time. She appreciated the participation by the entire present participant and the two-resource person.
