Entrepreneurs urge socially responsible business practices
KATHMANDU, August 5

Entrepreneurs from across the board came together to inaugurate an office named South Asia Alliance for Responsible Business (SARB), in an effort to ensure socially responsible business practices.

The SARB office, established in the FNCCI premises, will work exclusively for making the business sector’s role more socially responsible, assured Binod Bahadur Shrestha, president of FNCCI, after inaugurating the SARB secretariat. SARB will establish a true partnership with NGOs that will strengthen its ability in making business more prosperous and socially responsible. Countries such as Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and other regional bodies have already agreed to be a part of the alliance, especially environment for indulging in CSR through multi-sector and multi-country partnership. It has the job of providing a regional platform to share knowledge and experience on CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility). SARB will carry out studies on CSR status in the region, engage governments for promotion of CSR, expedite business schools for strengthening businesses and develop a code of conduct for each countries in South Asia.
